Artist's Description
On the Southwestern side of the Snaefellsnes peninsula lies the small hamlet of Búdir. Back in the day, Búdir was a major trade port and fishing village. Now all that remains is a small hotel/restaurant and the famous black church. The church is built in the medieval style and perched on the lava field which covers the whole area. It is a draw for tourist and photographer types because of its stark contrast with the landscape around it. (June 2022)
