Artist's Description

Starting on May 3, 2018 Kilauea volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii erupted. More than 20 fissures opened up in Leilani Estates subdivision. By July, the amount of lava gushing from the fissures was estimated to be a steady 26,000 US gallons per second.
The lava heading south reached the sea and sent huge plumes of steam and laze into the air. If the wind is in your favor some steam is blow away and give you a glimpse of some glowing magma. (July 2018)
