Description
On the westernmost part of the Snæfellsnes peninsula in Iceland rests Snæfellsjökull. Snæfellsjökull is a glacier-capped stratovolcano which is around 700,000 years old. It is one of the more famous locations in Iceland due to it being the starting place for Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth. Seen from the sea, during the golden hour as the sun is setting is very dramatic and leaves a lasting impression. (June 2022)
