Description
On the westernmost part of the Snaefelsnes peninsula, towering over the black stark volcanic cliffs stands the Svortuloft Lighthouse. It was constructed in 1931 and is a very visible fluorescent orange color. The cliffs are home to countless birds. I didn't plan to visit this place, because I didn't even know it existed; just stumbling into this very scenic view was one of the most impressive memories from Iceland. (June 2022)
