Description
Odocoileus Virginianus, or White-tailed Deer, are found throughout North America. They are generalists and can adapt to many environments ranging from mountainous forests to savannah grasslands. When alarmed they will raise their tail exposing the white hair underneath.
This image is of a young male with small antlers covered in velvet. He is in a forest reserve located in the state of North Carolina. (August 2018)
