Description
Driving South along the Blue Ridge Parkway, which connects Shenandoah National Park to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, is truly a sight to behold. The parkway has been the most visit unit of the National Park System every year since the beginning except for just a few outlying years. It's easy to see why… A road which rides along the spine of the Appalachian Mountains, it's local ecology protected, and beautiful expanses of rural Americana on either side of the mountain range is simply, at times, breathtaking.
This is one of the many curves in the road along the Parkway. Nearby, the colors of Autumn play beautifully amongst the trees. In the distance you can see far off misty mountain vistas.
